  2. 2Ask students for their names when they join, so you can see answers by student afterwards.
  3. 3Give the last 3 to 5 minutes of class. Students scan the QR code and answer the three questions on their devices.
  4. 4Sort the answers into got it, nearly and not yet, and use them to plan tomorrow's warm-up or small groups.

Questions people ask

What is an exit ticket?
A quick formative check at the end of a lesson. Students answer two or three questions about what they learned, and the teacher uses the answers to plan the next lesson.
What's the difference between an exit ticket and an exit slip?
Nothing. They're two names for the same end-of-lesson check. Some teachers say exit pass or ticket out the door.
What are good exit ticket examples?
3-2-1 (three things learned, two interesting, one question), a confidence rating plus an explanation, the muddiest point, or a one-problem check on today's skill.
How long should an exit ticket take?
Three to five minutes. Keep it to three questions or fewer so students finish before the bell.
