Five-minute team activities

Openers, energizers and closers. Pick one per meeting.

Title

In short

Team meeting activities are short exercises that open, energize or close a regular meeting. This pack has 15 five-minute activities in three sets: openers like a win of the week, energizers like ask me anything, and closers like a worth-your-time check. Each runs from phones as a poll, word cloud, scale or open question.

How to run it

  1. 1Pick one opener, one energizer or one closer per meeting. Each takes about five minutes.
  2. 2Open the slide grid and jump to the activity you want, or play the three sections in order across three weeks.
  3. 3Let everyone answer on their phone, then spend most of the five minutes talking about the result.
  4. 4Rotate who picks the activity each week so it doesn't always feel like the manager's game.

Questions people ask

What are fun staff meeting ideas?
Short activities that get everyone involved: a win of the week word cloud, shout-outs, a would you rather, or a tip swap. Five minutes is enough, and rotating who picks keeps it fresh.
What games can you play in a meeting?
Quick ones that don't derail the agenda: polls, word clouds and one-question rounds. Save longer games for team days.
How do you end a team meeting well?
Check that decisions were made, ask whether it was worth everyone's time, and ask who needs help. Then send the summary.
