How to run it

  1. 1Pick five minutes' worth for a regular faculty meeting, or the whole set to open a PD day.
  2. 2Staff join by QR code. Keep it anonymous so people answer honestly.
  3. 3For the trivia polls, reveal the split first, then the answer from the notes. Teachers love being right.
  4. 4End with the wins round and read a few out. It sets a better tone than going straight into announcements.

Questions people ask

What are good icebreakers for a staff meeting?
Fast ones that need no preparation: a one-word mood check, would you rather questions about teaching life, a few trivia polls and a round where people share a classroom win.
What are good would you rather questions for teachers?
Ones about the everyday trade-offs of teaching: grading or lunch duty, planning time or summer, the copier or the Wi-Fi. Keep them light and never about students or colleagues by name.
How do you do team building with teachers?
Short and regular beats long and rare. Open every faculty meeting with five minutes of play and a wins round, and save longer activities for PD days.
