How to run it

  1. 1Before the meeting, ask each player to prepare three short statements about themselves: two true, one false.
  2. 2Show the rules, then the ideas slides for anyone who's stuck. The host goes first using the sample round.
  3. 3Each player reads their three statements aloud, in order. The room votes on their phones, then the player reveals the lie.
  4. 4Scoring if you want it: the player gets a point for everyone they fooled. Keep a tally on paper or just play for fun.

Things that surprise people: places you've lived, odd jobs, unusual skills, a brush with someone famous. The best rounds pair a truth that sounds made up with a lie that sounds ordinary.
How do you play two truths and a lie?
Each player says three statements about themselves, two true and one false. Everyone else guesses which is the lie, then the player reveals it and tells the story behind the truths.
