How to run it

  1. 1For a prayer meeting, follow the format slide: welcome, thanks, Scripture, requests, praying in small groups, blessing.
  2. 2People add thanks and prayer requests from their phones, so quieter members are heard too. First names only, or 'unspoken'.
  3. 3To open or close any other meeting, jump to the prayer slides and read one aloud, or invite someone to.
  4. 4Use the closing blessing slide to end. It works for any size of group.

Questions people ask

How do you lead a prayer meeting?
Welcome people and open in prayer, give thanks, read a short passage of Scripture, gather requests, pray in small groups and close with a blessing. Keep the sharing shorter than the praying.
What is a good opening prayer for a meeting?
Keep it short: thank God for bringing the group together, ask for wisdom and listening ears, and dedicate the time to him. This pack has eight to choose from.
What is a good closing prayer for a meeting?
Thank God for the time together, ask for help carrying out what was decided, and pray for those who weren't there. The grace or the priestly blessing also work well.
Is there a prayer for staff meetings?
Yes. Six of the prayers are written for staff, work and board meetings, asking for wisdom, unity and care for the people the team serves.
