Be still

Psalm 46 · Finding steady ground in a restless week

Title

In short

These 13 slides give you scripture layouts, three point dividers, a practice for the week and a response poll answered on phones, set as a sample message on Psalm 46 you can replace.

How to run it

  1. 1Use the sample message on Psalm 46 or keep the layout and replace the text: title, scripture, three points, a practice for the week, a response.
  2. 2The scripture is from the King James Version, which is in the public domain. If you use another translation, check its rules for projecting text.
  3. 3Advance to each scripture slide as you read it, so the congregation reads along.
  4. 4Use the word cloud early and the response poll near the end; keep the open question for reflection and read a few answers in your closing prayer.

Questions people ask

What should be on sermon slides?
The sermon title, each scripture passage as it's read, a short slide for each main point, and a closing application or response. Keep the words few and large.
Can I put any Bible translation on worship slides?
Public-domain translations such as the King James Version are free to project. Most modern translations allow limited use in worship but have their own rules, so check the publisher's permissions.
How many slides should a sermon have?
Most sermons need 10 to 20: one for the title, one per scripture reading, one per point and a few for application and response.
