Why it works

Built so the interview debrief ends on time, with everyone in it.

  • A vote the whole room sees

One tap each on a phone, live bars on the screen. A tick shows who has voted, never what they chose.

  • Discussion with a clock

20 minutes of open floor with a countdown everyone can see, and a talk-balance meter so the loudest voice doesn't take all of it.

  • Updates stay short

4 minutes of updates with a visible clock. In a video call the speaker is spotlighted and the room is muted, so nobody talks over them.

  • It ends in a decision

Capture the decision and its owner with one click while it's said. It lands in the summary, word for word.

  • Wraps up on time

Decisions and actions are read back, the summary is already written, and a finish on time earns the confetti.

How to run it

  1. 1Hold the debrief right after the final interview.
  2. 2Ask every interviewer to submit written feedback before the meeting, and have the hiring manager read it first.
  3. 3Score against a rubric that defines poor, borderline, solid and outstanding answers.
  4. 4Collect ratings before anyone talks, then go around the room so the loudest voice doesn't dominate.
  5. 5Make clear the hiring manager owns the decision, and record actions in the ATS.

Questions about the interview debrief

How long should an interview debrief be?
Metaview puts it at 30 to 45 minutes for a four-interviewer panel, with one to two minutes per interviewer in the go-around.
Why collect written feedback before the debrief?
Without it, the Predictive Index notes, the first person to speak tends to pull everyone else in their direction.
Who makes the hiring decision?
The hiring manager decides; Metaview says it is not a consensus vote.
