The follow-up email

Subject

Cybersecurity awareness month: the four-week plan

Here's our plan for October. Each session is 30 minutes.

Week 1 · Strong passwords and a password manager · ______ (date)
Action: install the password manager and change any reused password, starting with email.

Week 2 · Multi-factor authentication · ______
Action: turn on MFA for email, banking and any work tool that offers it.

Week 3 · Spot and report phishing, plus our phishing test debrief · ______
Action: report one suspicious email with the report button.

Week 4 · Update your software · ______
Action: install pending updates on your laptop and phone.

How to report anything suspicious: ______
Nobody gets in trouble for reporting.

How to run it

  1. 1Schedule four 30-minute sessions in October and open the deck at that week's section each time.
  2. 2If you run a phishing test, do it before week 3 and share only totals, never names.
  3. 3Vote first on every scenario, then explain. People remember the answers they got wrong.
  4. 4Take blockers raised in discussion to IT, such as tools that don't support MFA.
  5. 5Close each session with one action, and ask about it at the start of the next.
