A 34-year-old with sudden shortness of breath

Case presentation · Morning report · Presenter, team, date

Title

In short

A medical case presentation walks colleagues through a patient's story in a standard order: chief complaint, history of present illness, history, exam, results, diagnosis, course and teaching points. This 14-slide template follows that order and adds live polls for the differential and the next test, so the room reasons through the case together.

How to run it

  1. 1Replace the sample case (sudden shortness of breath) with your own, and remove anything that could identify the patient.
  2. 2Present the history and exam, then stop for the differential poll before showing any results.
  3. 3Reveal results one slide at a time and run the next-test poll before the diagnosis, so the room commits to a plan.
  4. 4Finish on two or three teaching points, then use the open question to discuss what the team would do differently.

Questions people ask
