Title

In short

How to run it

  1. 1Run the survey slides in the last five minutes of the event itself, while guests are still in the room. Results are far higher than from an email survey a week later.
  2. 2Hold the debrief within a week, while details are fresh, with everyone who worked on the event.
  3. 3Open with goals against results, then the survey slides with the attendees' answers.
  4. 4Fill the lessons board in silence first, dot-vote, and turn the top notes into owned changes.
  5. 5Send the event recap and save it where the next event's team will look first.

Questions people ask

What should an event debrief cover?
Goals against results, what attendees said, what to keep, what to change, what to try next time, who owns each change, and where the lessons will be kept.
What are good post-event survey questions?
An overall rating, how likely they are to recommend it, the best part, whether they'd come again, and one thing to change. Five or six questions is plenty.
When should you hold a post-event meeting?
Within a week, while details are fresh. Run the attendee survey at the end of the event itself for the best response.
