Title

In short

A business plan presentation summarizes your plan in slides: the problem, solution, market, business model, competition, go-to-market, financials and funding needed. This 16-slide template covers each in order and ends with three live questions, so lenders, judges or your board can give honest feedback on their phones.

How to run it

  1. 1Write the problem and solution slides first. If they aren't clear in one sentence each, the rest of the plan won't be either.
  2. 2Replace every sample number with your numbers, and keep your assumptions ready for the financials slide.
  3. 3Present for about 20 minutes, then use the three closing questions to collect feedback from your audience on their phones.
  4. 4Read the open answers afterwards and update the plan before the next presentation.

Questions people ask

What should a business plan presentation include?
The problem, your solution, the market and customers, how you make money, competition, go-to-market, financial forecasts with assumptions, milestones and what you're asking for.
How many slides should a business plan presentation have?
About 12 to 16. Keep detail in the written plan and the financial model, and use the slides for the story and the key numbers.
What's the difference between a business plan presentation and a pitch deck?
A pitch deck is short and built to win investor interest. A business plan presentation goes further into operations, go-to-market and financials, often for lenders, partners or an internal board.
