How to run it

  1. 1Fill in your refund policy, who to call and your store's loss prevention rules. Check the banknote slide against your currency.
  2. 2Run it for new starters in their first week, or as a pre-season refresher before your busiest period.
  3. 3Role-play the open-question slide at the counter: one person plays a customer, the other practices the greeting and questions.
  4. 4Use the scenario polls to start a conversation, then pair it with your regular loss prevention briefing for the store's specific risks.

Questions people ask

What should cashier training include?
Greeting customers, using the till, cash handling and counting back change, checking bills, refunds and exchanges, handling difficult customers and the store's loss prevention rules.
What is loss prevention training?
Training that helps staff reduce theft and errors safely: noticing behavior, giving attentive service, following till procedures and reporting concerns, never chasing or confronting anyone.
What are good retail sales training topics?
Greeting, open questions, recommending two or three options, adding on, closing the sale and handling objections. Practice each one at the counter in pairs.
