[A promise your buyer cares about, in eight words or fewer]

[Your company] · for [buyer's company]

Title

In short

A sales pitch is a short, persuasive conversation that shows a buyer the cost of their problem, the value of solving it and proof that you can. This 20-minute template follows problem, value, proof, with a talk track in each slide's notes and live questions that surface objections while you can still answer them.

What's inside

  1. 1[A promise your buyer cares about, in eight words or fewer]
  2. 2Something changed: [the shift that makes this problem urgent now].
  3. 39 days [The cost of the problem today, e.g. the time a finance team spends on month-end close]
  4. 4Roughly how much does [the problem] cost your team each month?Almost nothing · A few hours · A few days · We've stopped measuring live
  5. 5Why it's hard today
  6. 6What if [the outcome] without [the pain]?
  7. 7How we do it
  8. 8Proof
  9. 9[A real customer quote about the result, ideally from someone with the buyer's job title.]
  10. 10Your options
  11. 11How well does this match what you need? live
  12. 12What would stop you from doing this? live
  13. 13Getting started
  14. 14[Restate the promise]

How to run it

  1. 1Write the promise on the title slide first. Then fill each slide's bracket and rehearse the talk track in the notes out loud.
  2. 2Replace the sample numbers with your numbers. A specific, sourced figure beats a big round one.
  3. 3Pause on the cost poll and the fit scale. Their answers tell you whether to go deeper or move to next steps.
  4. 4Use the open question to collect objections on phones. People write what they wouldn't say out loud. Answer the top two live.

Questions people ask

How do you structure a sales pitch?
Start with a change in the buyer's world, show the cost of the problem, describe the value of solving it, prove it with numbers and a customer story, compare the options fairly, then ask for one clear next step.
What makes a good sales pitch example?
It's about the buyer, not the seller. It uses their words, puts a number on their problem, shows three capabilities instead of ten, and ends with a specific ask and a date.
How long should a sales pitch be?
About 20 minutes of a 30-minute meeting. Leave the rest for questions, objections and agreeing next steps.
