What's inside

By the end of this meeting, the chapter has heard its reports, acted on unfinished and new business with recorded votes and closed with ceremony. The full agenda is drawn to scale above: every block has its own timer when you run it live.

How to run it

  1. 1Officers rehearse the opening and closing ceremonies until they can do them from memory.
  2. 2Run business in the official order: minutes, officer reports, program of activities, special features, unfinished business, committee reports, new business.
  3. 3Use common gavel signals: two taps call the meeting to order, three bring members to their feet, one seats them.
  4. 4Take votes on phones so every motion's result is recorded in the summary, which becomes the secretary's draft minutes.
  5. 5Finish with recreation so the meeting ends on something members look forward to.
