How to run it

  1. 1Use it in the first seminar, a residence hall floor meeting or a club's first night. Students join by scanning the QR code.
  2. 2Start with the hometown word cloud: it gets people talking straight away.
  3. 3For two truths and a lie, pick a volunteer (or go first yourself). They say three statements; the room votes on the lie.
  4. 4Read a few answers to the skill question aloud and connect people who could teach each other something.
  5. 5RAs: the 'how settled do you feel' scale is anonymous. Use it to spot whether your floor needs more support.

Questions people ask

What are good icebreaker questions for college students?
Where's home, what are you studying, 8am or 8pm classes, your ideal study spot, a skill you could teach in five minutes, and one thing on your campus bucket list.
What are good team building activities for college students?
Two truths and a lie with a live vote, skill swaps, and small-group challenges in clubs. Phone voting gets quiet students involved without putting them on the spot.
What icebreakers work for RAs on a residence hall floor?
Light ones first, like a hometown word cloud and would you rather, then an anonymous check on how settled people feel so you know who might need support.
