In short

A community meeting brings residents together to share concerns, hear updates and agree what to work on. This 90-minute agenda has residents add ideas from their phones, group them into themes and vote anonymously on one priority, then ends with volunteers and a first step, so the meeting leads to action.

What's inside

By the end of this meeting, residents have named what matters most, agreed one priority and signed up to work on it. The full agenda is drawn to scale above: every block has its own timer when you run it live.

How to run it

  1. 1Put the join QR code on the flyer and on the screen so residents can take part from their phones; there's no app or sign-up.
  2. 2Keep guest updates short and on the timer so most of the meeting belongs to residents.
  3. 3Collect ideas on phones first, then group them into themes and vote, so the loudest voices don't set the priority alone.
  4. 4Leave with a named lead and a first step, and send the summary to everyone who joined.

Questions people ask

What should be on a community meeting agenda?
A welcome and ground rules, short updates from partners, time for residents' ideas and concerns, a way to agree priorities, and next steps with named volunteers.
How do you run a productive neighborhood meeting?
Keep guest updates short, collect everyone's ideas before discussing them, vote on a single priority and end with a lead volunteer and a first step.
How long should a community meeting be?
60 to 90 minutes. Longer evening meetings lose people before the decisions are made.
