How do I start a 2 minute timer?

Press Start, or the space bar. The 2 minutes count down in big digits and the time left shows in your browser tab, so you can switch to other work and still see it.

Is 2 minutes long enough for a speech?

For a toast or a self-introduction, yes: about 260 words at a calm pace. Plan one point and one story, and practise with the timer until you finish with a few seconds to spare.

Does the 2 minute timer make a sound?

Yes, a soft two-note chime at zero, made in your browser without any audio files. Turn it off with the bell button. It still chimes on time in a background tab, because the sound is scheduled when you press Start.

Can I show it full screen?

Yes. Press F or the full screen button and the digits fill the screen, big enough for a whole room. Escape takes you back.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. The timer is free and runs in your browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. No account, no email, no download.
