25 minute timer questions
How do I start a 25 minute timer?
Press Start, or the space bar. The 25 minutes count down in big digits and the time left shows in your browser tab, so you can switch to other work and still see it.
How does the Pomodoro technique work?
Pick a task, work on it for 25 minutes without switching, then take a 5 minute break. After four rounds, take a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes. This page times the 25; the 5 minute timer times the break.
Does the 25 minute timer make a sound?
Yes, a soft two-note chime at zero, made in your browser without any audio files. Turn it off with the bell button. It still chimes on time in a background tab, because the sound is scheduled when you press Start.
Can I show it full screen?
Yes. Press F or the full screen button and the digits fill the screen, big enough for a whole room. Escape takes you back.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. The timer is free and runs in your browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. No account, no email, no download.
