What it's good for
What 30 minutes is good for.
Meetings that end on time
Half an hour is the most booked meeting length. Give each agenda item its own minutes inside it and it really does end at half past.
Study sessions
Thirty minutes of focused revision, then a short break, works well for most people.
Cooking and baking
Put it on the kitchen tablet: the digits are readable from across the room, and the chime is gentle enough not to startle anyone.

30 minute timer questions
How do I start a 30 minute timer?
Press Start, or the space bar. The 30 minutes count down in big digits and the time left shows in your browser tab, so you can switch to other work and still see it.
How do I keep a 30 minute meeting on time?
Split the half hour across the agenda before you start (say 3 minutes to check in, 20 for the main topic, 5 to decide and 2 to wrap up) and time each part. A meeting timer that follows the agenda does this for you.
Does the 30 minute timer make a sound?
Yes, a soft two-note chime at zero, made in your browser without any audio files. Turn it off with the bell button. It still chimes on time in a background tab, because the sound is scheduled when you press Start.
Can I show it full screen?
Yes. Press F or the full screen button and the digits fill the screen, big enough for a whole room. Escape takes you back.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. The timer is free and runs in your browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. No account, no email, no download.
