How do I start a 3 minute timer?

Press Start, or the space bar. The 3 minutes count down in big digits and the time left shows in your browser tab, so you can switch to other work and still see it.

How long should I steep tea?

As a rule of thumb, green tea two to three minutes, black tea three to five and herbal tea five or more. This timer starts at three; press +1 min if you like it stronger.

Does the 3 minute timer make a sound?

Yes, a soft two-note chime at zero, made in your browser without any audio files. Turn it off with the bell button. It still chimes on time in a background tab, because the sound is scheduled when you press Start.

Can I show it full screen?

Yes. Press F or the full screen button and the digits fill the screen, big enough for a whole room. Escape takes you back.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. The timer is free and runs in your browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. No account, no email, no download.
